Siberian Tundra
In the Siberian Tundra their are short summers and very long winters. The Siberian Tundra is located in the northeastern part of Russia between 60° to 80° North latitude, and 70° to 180° East longitude. Most animals are adapted to take advantage of the short summer and survive the long winter. Many plants have resistance to the cold and are able to survive the long winter months without water. Many plants such as the Dwarf Birch have adapted their roots to grow outward instead of down. Other plants have leaves adapted to take in water. Under the ground of the Siberian Tundra their is a large layer of ice formed with methane and water.
